Are We In The End Times? News Update!!!

Shalom!

Does the news with Korea has anything to do with end-time prophecies in the Bible?

In 1948, the year that Israel was prophetically rebirthed as the Jewish nation, the city of Pyongyang (also in 1948), became the capital of the new communist North Korea.

About 40 years earlier, the Spirit of God moved and revival broke out in Korea. Most of the 2000 Christian churches were located in Pyongyang and the rest of the north.

The city of Pyongyang was even called the ‘Jerusalem of the East’ because there were so many active churches, people praying, miracles taking place, a lot of street evangelism, and multitudes accepting Jesus as their savior each day!

So it is astonishing that the Supreme Leader, Kim Il-Sung, (the grandfather of the current leader Kim Jong-un who met President Trump) was raised in a devout Christian family. Kim Il-Sung’s parents were elders at a Presbyterian church in the 1920s and he attended church throughout his teenage years!

He later became a political activist and resistance army leader, eventually becoming the Supreme Leader of North Korea. Kim Il-Sung who was raised in the church turned his back on God. As the Supreme Leader, his countrymen had to sing songs about their “dear leader” – praising him.

To brainwash his countrymen into his cult leadership as their messiah figure and their god, a story was created about his birth. The myth is that he was born in a log cabin at the peak of North Korea’s highest mountain. A double rainbow, as well as a bright star and a bird, descended from heaven to announce his birth.

He made the people revere him as a god and his son (Kim Jong-il) as the “son of god” – copying the Christian theology of Jesus being the son of God.

So here we are today with the question: “Does Korea have anything to do with end-time prophecy?”

Let’s keep in mind that in every generation, people have questioned if they were living in the end times.

Even the disciples thought that they were living in the last days. However, it is only in the last two generations that we have Proof that we are NOW living in the last days.

During the last 70 years, many of the prophecies of Isaiah, the Psalms, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah regarding the regathering of Israel and Israel becoming a nation have been fulfilled!

Three end-time prophecies not yet fulfilled involve wars:  the destruction of Damascus, Syria (which just may be currently in process), the upcoming War of Gog/Magog (Ezekiel 38–39), and the final war of Zechariah 12–14 when Yeshua returns.

In addition, Daniel 12 coincides with Zechariah 14, which is the resurrection of the dead and Judgment Day:

“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise.  There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then.  But at that time your people — everyone whose name is found written in the book — will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.” (Daniel 12:1-2)

Since the four blood moons appeared in 2014 and 2015, we have seen the nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38 making greater threats to Israel while moving their military capabilities closer toward confrontation with the Jewish State.

Will these wars happen in next 5 years? 10 years? 15 years?

Will Yeshua return in our generation?

Israeli military commanders estimate that her hostile Arab neighbors have at least half a million (500,000) missiles pointed at cities in the tiny Jewish State, which is only the size of New Jersey, and the number of missiles are expanding daily.

So, when will the war of Gog/Magog (Ezekiel 38–39) take place?

Is President Trump’s talks with Korea a part of it? And how does this affect Iran which is a key player mentioned in Ezekiel 38?

Before we answer these questions, let’s first go back to 1948.

After the Holocaust ended in 1945, God regathered en masse the Jewish people back to the Holy Land. They had been scattered for almost 2,000 years, but in 1948 Israel became a nation! This was a fulfillment of a number of prophecies in the Book of Isaiah.

And this rebirth of Israel in 1948 was the sign that Yeshua gave to us about the end times. He described an image of a blossoming fig tree. The fig tree was a metaphor for Israel.

“Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. As soon as they come out in leaf, you see for yourselves and know that the summer is already near.  So also, when you see these things taking place, you know that the kingdom of God is near.” (Luke 21:29-31)

Israel has certainly blossomed over the past 70 years. In 1948 there were only about 500,000 Jewish people, and today there are 6.5 million.

Before 1948, which was only 70 years ago, it was a desert and swampland. Today the desert is blossoming, and Israel is again a land of milk and honey.

As we celebrate her 70th birthday this year, Israel is undergoing a significant spiritual re-alignment with God’s divine end-time plan.

Jerusalem has been officially recognized by President Trump as Israel’s eternal capital, the place where God has put His name. This past week US President Donald Trump has put his efforts into re-aligning North Korea to become a partner in peace with the West and rid itself of nuclear weapons.

Israel’s military and government are watching closely, since they hope that success with denuclearizing North Korea will lead to similar success with Iran. And Trump is also hoping to make a new deal with Iran.

However, many do not believe that there will be peace with either dictatorship. Let’s take a closer look at what is happening between Korea, Iran, and Israel.

The Plan of Annihilation

On a Spiritual Front, the Christians of South Korea are known for their special love of Israel. Many get up at 4 a.m. to pray for the Jewish nation as well as for the reunification of North and South Korea–and they pray with great travail. Why?

Many Christians in South Korea not only believe God has a plan for the Jewish people to live in their ancient homeland, they share the same threat of annihilation from their neighbor, North Korea, as Israel does with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran has invested billions of dollars to develop nuclear weapons to annihilate the Jewish nation. North Korea has been helping Iran to accomplish that goal.

According to the South Korean press, hundreds of North Korea’s scientists have worked in Iranian nuclear facilities.  And when North Korea tested its nuclear bomb in 2013, Iranian scientists were allegedly present.  (The Diplomat)

It is also believed that Iran has funded some of North Korea’s missile development.

And it’s no secret that Iran’s missiles end up in the hands of Hezbollah, Hamas, Syria, and other terror regimes that also want to destroy Israel. Remember the 500,000 missiles pointed at Israeli cities?  Imagine them having nuclear warheads.

So, defusing North Korea’s nuclear and military arsenal helps to limit Iran’s military threat against Israel.

Last week, US President Donald Trump upset Iran by making unprecedented offers to Kim Jong-un, the leader of North Korea.

Trump offered him a historic opportunity to engage with the Western world and become a free, prosperous nation, if he will destroy his nuclear ability.

This agreement is different from the nuclear deal that Obama made with Iran, which Trump recently pulled out of.

The White House says that sanctions will not be removed on North Korea until destruction of its nuclear capability is verified.  And if it is not verified, Trump has another 300 sanctions waiting to be placed on North Korea.

Blessing Our Enemies

Both the USA and Israel have the military capability to destroy their enemies. However, both countries are offering them peace and physical blessings.

While President Trump is presenting a path of economic and social prosperity to North Korea, so too is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu offering to bring Iran out of a devastating water shortage.

Former Iranian agricultural minister Isa Kalantari warned a few years ago that at the current rate of water consumption and mismanagement, all the rivers of Iran will soon dry out and about 50 million people will “need to move to survive.” (VOA News)

Only a few days ago, the Prime Minister of Israel reached out to Iran.

He went on TV to offer his enemy help with the Israeli knowledge of mastering water conservation. He stated that Israel will create a website in the language of the Iranians (Farsi) with detailed plans on how the Iranian people can recycle their water in the same way that Israel does.

“If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. For in so doing, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.” (Proverbs 25:21-22)

However, let’s not be too naive in these matters, either.

Perhaps the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un may change his ways, but the spiritual leader (Ayatollah) of the Islamic State of Iran will undoubtedly keep pursuing nuclear weapons to destroy Israel.

The secular saying is, “a leopard cannot change its spots,” which in Iran’s case is likely true because as we read In Ezekiel 38, a prophecy soon to be fulfilled, Iran is one of the enemies who tries to destroy Israel.

Regarding Trump trying to garner peace with Kim Jong-un, let us remember that he has murdered thousands of people, including his own family members.

There are an estimated 120,000 North Koreans in political prison camps simply because they have voiced their opinion against Kim Jong-un’s father and himself. These “political prisoners” live in inhumane conditions, and are tortured! (BBC)

Camp 14 at Kaechon was established in 1958 and holds about 15,000 political prisoners who endure forced labor and induced starvation.  It is one of six known political prison camps listed on the US Department of State website.

Pundits doubt that any deal with North Korea will bring total denuclearization, and Iran is certainly not willing to give up its nuclear program.

For the past 40 years, North Korea and Iran have had strong ties and will most likely continue their friendship in the future.

But, of course, God is on His throne. For decades He has been hearing the prayers of South Korea for the reunification and freedom of their fellow Koreans to the north, and with Him all things are possible.

What we know for certain is that the prophecy of Ezekiel’s war of Gog and Magog clearly states that Iran is one of the nations that will try to destroy Israel — with or without the help of North Korea.

God has set forth in the Bible who the “Players” of His End-Time Plan are,  and God’s prophecies are true, they do happen! Everything has been put into motion. This cannot be changed, just like the spots on a leopard.

These are exciting times that we live in as we see the prophecies of the Bible unfold.
